Everybody has something to hide.
Nobody is what they seem to be.
8th grader Lenny Lusendt is seeing things.
Strange things.
After moving to the rich, snooty town of Aulmpitt, Ohio, Lenny gets a
new pair of contacts from the mysterious Dr. Third. Being the new kid
in town is scary, but the hideous and bizarre sights Lenny sees in his
new school are even scarier.
His gym teacher is caveman. A
mummy is teaching math. The principal is a living cardboard cut-out.
And the other students? Well, they?re walking, talking plastic Barbie
and Ken dolls.
Fortunately, Lenny is able to befriend three other punk rock misfits at Aulmpitt Junior High and together they form a band.
But as soon as he begins to come to grips with his strange new life, he
meets the mysterious Pauline. Everyone in town thinks she?s autistic,
but Lenny?s contacts show him that there?s more to her than meets the
eyes...and, somehow, he knows he?s the only one who can help her.
